Privacy policy

This policy explains how Barb Constantin-Cătălin – Law Office processes the personal data of website visitors, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

1. Data controller

2. Data processed

Through the contact form we collect: full name, e-mail address, telephone number (if provided) and the content of your message. We do not collect data by other means and we do not use traffic analytics or marketing tools.

3. Purposes and legal bases

Data are processed in order to: (a) respond to your enquiry and take steps at your request prior to entering into a legal assistance agreement [art. 6(1)(b) GDPR]; (b) establish, exercise or defend the Office's rights [art. 6(1)(f) GDPR]; (c) comply with the lawyer's legal and professional obligations [art. 6(1)(c) GDPR].

4. Storage period

Correspondence is kept for as long as necessary to handle the enquiry and, thereafter, for the duration of the applicable limitation periods and of the archiving obligations of the lawyers' profession, after which it is deleted.

5. Recipients

Data may be accessed by the Office's technical providers (web hosting, e-mail services), acting as processors, strictly for the operation of the website and of correspondence. Data are not sold and are not disclosed to other third parties, except where the law so requires.

6. Your rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and portability, under art. 15–21 GDPR, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian supervisory authority, ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro). 7. Cookies

The website uses a single, strictly functional cookie (“cb_lang”, valid for 12 months), which remembers the language you have chosen. We use no analytics, advertising or third-party cookies. The Google map on the contact page loads only at your express request; from that moment, Google may set its own cookies under its own policy.

8. Professional privilege

Independently of the GDPR, information entrusted to a lawyer is protected by professional privilege, under art. 11 of Law no. 51/1995 and the Statute of the lawyers' profession.
